Happy 2024! One of my goals this year is to be more eco-conscious. As a mom of three kids, we go through a lot of plastic sandwich and snack bags for school lunches. In fact, if each kid uses 3 plastic sandwich bags for 180 days of school, we would go through 1,620 plastic sandwich bags every academic year. WOW…that is a crazy amount of small plastic bags being thrown away.
As a bag maker, my mission is to create sustainable products that are eco-friendly and practical for everyday life. My greatest challenge was to find a food safe liner that was certified food safe and free of lead, phthalates, BPA, and other chemicals. After a bit of online research, I found a company based in the United States that produced a certified food safe and waterproof liner…perfect for holding food. After playing around a bit with the design and different sizes, I have created some innovative reusable zipper bags for everyday use. Not only are these bags ideal for packing lunches but they can also be used for cosmetics, toiletries, storing project parts, and more!
These bags come in two sizes: sandwich (7.5 x 7.5) and snack (7.5 x 4.5) and are practical and visually appealing for both kids and adults. Each bag can be effortlessly washed and reused repeatedly. Care: Turn the bag inside out and rinse with warm soapy water or machine wash with cold water and air dry. Lightly iron the outside cotton material to remove wrinkles. Do not iron lining.
